Just for giggles, here’s an update on Will Reading – a movie in production by Saylaco Films.
SCRIPT
I’m marking up the 2nd draft of the script so I can do a 3rd (and hopefully final) draft – I’ve given myself a deadline of July 1st. Here’s an example: As you can see in the image below (well, probably not see as it’s super blurry), I’m doing a major revision on scene 5 to suit the new direction that Wayne’s character has taken based on the expanded back story I created for each character.
EQUIPMENT
Now that I’ve had the new camera for a while, I’ve been evaluating all of the other equipment and so far, so good. I was especially worried that I’d have to buy a new boom mic, but that does not appear to be the case. I’ve done a few lighting tests in conjunction with a short I’m making with a friend and so far, so good. I’m also wrapping my head around green screen as there will be a few shots we’ll do that way rather than find locations for something that will happen in the movie for 30 seconds. I’m thinking that I may need to pick up one more light, but I think I’ve found an inexpensive solution.
PROPS
I haven’t made a complete list yet, but the first few props have begun to trickle in – again, so far, so good.
TABLE READ!
I’m hoping we can have a table read in mid July.
THE NEXT STEPS
June: finish draft 3 by July 1st
July: storyboard the entire movie, meet with cast and read through script, lighting tests
Aug: rehearse with cast, do a little shooting, costumes, props, final tech tests
Sep: shoot the bulk of the movie
